INTRODUCING THE MCAULEY AQUATIC CENTER

On March 23, just before the start of the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, Georgia Tech celebrated the newly named Coach Herb McAuley Aquatic Center and recognized the philanthropy behind it. Director of Athletics Mike Bobinski presented Toni and Richard L. Bergmark, IMGT 1975, with a recognition award honoring their 2015 gift, which will support the Aquatic Center and its programs in perpetuity, and which now bears the name of an extraordinary man who made an indelible impact on the Institute, and on generations of students, including Bergmark. The McAuley Aquatic Center commemorates the legacy of Coach Herb McAuley, EE 1947, a champion swimmer and a longtime, beloved Tech swim coach.
